At GIS Monza we believe strongly in the potential that learning outside of the classroom can have.
Taking learning outside gives new perspectives, it allows students to share their knowledge and apply skills they have learnt in the classroom. Moreover, learning becomes memorable if attached to an exciting experience out of the classroom.
PYP students experience a field trip for each unit of inquiry. They may be on foot to a local experience or may be further afield using a private bus. Field trips always connect to the curriculum or to the wider aspects of the PYP such as a trip to explore international mindedness or the Learner Profile in a different context. Following field trips, students reflect on the experience.
In PY5, students undertake a residential trip spending 2 nights together with GIS staff to experience the joys of being a risk-taker and staying away from home.
