Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our entire community is of utmost importance to the Leadership. We aim to maintain a supportive and happy place to be, for our students, teachers and parents.

Personal, Social and Physical Education (PSPE) in the IB-PYP plays a crucial role in the holistic development of students. PSPE focuses on fostering students’ personal well-being, social skills, and physical health, ensuring a well-rounded education

We introduced Yoga, into the curriculum as part of our PSPE and well-being programme, taught by a qualified Yoga teacher. Yoga is a tool for promoting mindfulness and well-being.

Yoga and the
IB Learner Profile

Yoga develops students’ ability to be reflective.  Students  learn to take a step backwards to reflect on themselves.   This is an emotional type of reflection and therefore requires students to be caring, open-minded and a risk-taker to put themselves in this emotional position.

Yoga and the approaches to learning

Yoga develops students’ Self-Management Skills.  They begin to make connections between the mind and the body and to appreciate the value of Yoga as a tool for understanding who they are, they learn how to balance anxiety and serenity in moments of challenge.
